None of these tests are 100% accurate, its easier to diagnose genital herpes test at the beginning of time when you can get a sample fluid from one of the blisters (or sores) that appear before these actually begin to get better. The genital herpes test will generally be more accurate  depending on the amount of the virus that is being shed at that particular point in time.
When i have had the genital herpes test what is the treatment?
Primarily the treatment is to calm the pain down and stop the virus from increasing inside you

Treatment is:
1.    Ideally you want when you have the first episode as this gives great relief
2.    Normally started within 5 days of the first particual episode
3.    Soon as an episode begins  it can be difficult and you may be give some tablets to take at home
4.    Antibiotics will not help herpes as its casued by a virus and not a bacteria

Do i need a follow up genital herpes test ?

There is no easy answer to this some people yes/ some people no. Your doctor may ask you to go back at a certain time to test for this or other disease but i suggest you talk to your doctor or any other sexual health advisor for further help
